First bjj: why train bjj? Cardio had improved, I had more energy, and the stress that was brought on from work was gone. I felt more comfortable and confident going into work because I knew what real pressure was and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu helped me understand the importance of staying calm under pressure.
BJJ also helped keep my EGO in check which made it a lot easier to work with my co-workers. I simply took what I was doing on the mats and applied it to the workplace. I was more at ease and more open-minded when it came to the ideas of my co-workers as well as those individuals that reported directly to me.
Another reason why I train BJJ is that it’s FUN! That’s right; I have fun going to BJJ class to learn a new technique or build upon the self defense skills that I have been working on. I never was excited to go to the gym to lift or run on the treadmill. I am very fortunate to have found a BJJ school where everyone is on the same page of helping every teammate get better.

First BJJ mission is to provide the most effective self-defense instruction in the world by giving students the elements to defend themselves without punches or kicks in any real life situation. BJJ is a non-striking martial art. First Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu goal is to teach our students how to defend themselves by taking their opponents to the ground. By doing this, we are able to defeat a much bigger and strong opponent through the use of leverage and the use of techniques that anyone, regardless of weight, strength or athletic ability, can learn. Another big difference between BJJ and other martial arts is how we spar. In BJJ you can spar live every class. We call this "rolling"and it a fun and safe way to try the techniques that we know. If you are interested in trying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu here in Murray, Salt Lake, Utah, then set up a FREE TRIAL CLASS. At that time, Professors Suyan Queiroz and Carlos Santos can address any concerns that you may have. Check our schedule and be welcome check us out!
The young student will immerse on a fun and fast-paced motivational journey exploring the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while gaining confidense and self-esteem. Adult Fundamentals: Beginners up to white belt 3 stripes.
The Adult Fundamentals Program is the first level for adults (over the age of 16) beginning their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. Students will learn the fundamentals of BJJ and basic techniques. Class structure is formed around a warm-up, a lesson in technique and partner training to practice the technique from the lesson.
Adult Advanced: From white belt 4 stripes.
The Adult Advanced Program is primarily focused on sports BJJ. Class structure is formed around warm-up, a lesson in technique and rolling.
Adult Elite: From blue belt.
This program is built upon a different curriculum and is perfect for the competitive athlete. The class objective is getting our competitiors ready for tournaments. This class will also feature hard drilling, competitive sparring and conditioning. Although the class is designed for competitiors it is not exclusive. It is also open to all Blue Belts and up who are looking for high intensity training.
