Jacare has been involved in Jiu-Jitsu for over 40 years and presented our own Professor Octavio Couto with his Black Belt in 1996. This seminar will be open to all students, regardless of their schools affiliation.

On January 9, 2015, Copa Podio kicks off its 4th season in Rio de Janeiro with the Lightweight Grand Prix with tops like Lucas Lepri and Davi Ramos
The professional jiu-jitsu event will be hosting its last event in Rio. After this, the event will be held in other countries, with editions in Argentina and Norway, in 2016.
The event on January 9 will be streamed live on the website www.flograppling.com
for pay-per-view subscribers.
Check out the complete card, which besides the lightweight (up to 77 kg/169.6 lbs) division title, will also include a special challenge between the Vikings (fighters from northern Europe) and Cabras da Peste (contenders from the north of Brazil).

Chokes rule the sport’s submission ratio being the rear-naked-choke the most utilized strangle-hold of 2015. Another interesting aspect of the data is the lack of lower limb finishes, as we saw no kneebars, straight ankle locks, heel hooks, calf slicers or toe holds this year. Zero.

Anderson Silva vs. Michael Bisping Fight Set
Michael Bisping was already se to face off with Gegard Mousasi at UFC Fight Night 83 at the O2 Arena in London, England, but the card was never announced for a headlining bout. Obviously, it could have been very easy for that fight to slide into the main spot, but it seemed like the promotion was waiting for something bigger. It might have been that they were trying to set up the Silva and Vitor Belfort fight for the card, but it never happened and no one knows why. Well, Silva is going to be not he card and he will finally face off with Michael Bisping.
The biggest thing about the bout being on this card is that it will be on fight pass, but then again it is the way to get people to sign up for the service and neither of these two fighters are really anywhere near a title shot. Silva has two straight losses to Chris Weidman and followed that up with a no-contest over Nick Diaz where he failed a drug test for most likely steroids. He will return a month after his year suspension from the failed test. Bisping himself is riding a two fight winning streak for the first time in years.
He has wins over CB Dollaway and Thales Leites. He was supposed to take on Robert Whittaker a month or so ago, but the bout never came to fruition due to Bisping puling out for an elbow surgery. Before those two wins, he had gone 3-4 with his wins coming over three fighters that are currently not in the UFC anymore. Now, he has a chance to get his biggest win of his career over the former kingpin of the Middleweight division and even though his star has dimmed it would be a huge feather in the cap for the British born fighter who does not have many years left in the promotion before retiring.
It also seems that Gegard Mousasi will remain on the card even though a replacement fighter has not been announced. The rest of the car dis filled out with some semi-well known fighters but no one of worth to the prospect of challenging for a belt in any of there respective divisions. Is anyone actually excited by this bout though?

He later trained with Marcello Monteiro (3rd Degree Black Belt under Master Ricardo De LaRiva – Carlson Gracie Black Belt). Alan is an experience instructor and brings with him a sincere desire to see his students grow.
